PR Specialist

  • Sydney CBD location (hybrid), interstate / fully remote an option
  • 12 month contract initially

Reporting into the Senior Media and Communications Manager, this critical role will work with the Media and Communications team members to ensure earned media components of integrated marketing campaigns are executed in a timely and efficient manner, and to a high quality.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and be responsible for the execution of the earned media components of national integrated marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to day-to-day media requests in order to drive media share of voice and influencer attitudes, opinions and actions
  • Lead the executional team to develop and deliver proactive earned media and communications KPIs
  • Work with the Senior Media & Communications Manager, and the Media & Communications Manager to identify potential campaign risks
  • Foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that campaign objectives are achieved and KPIs are met
  • Be responsible for best practice media measurement and evaluation, including use of insights to improve strategy
  • Development of high-quality media materials including media releases, briefing materials and FAQs
  • Assisting with the development of communications content, including liaising with external suppliers

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related field
  • Passion for public relations and media relations
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in public relations
  • Interest in accurately communicating about health issues and interest in working in the NFP sector
  • Excellent attention to detail, time and project management skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent judgement and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent news sense and understanding of Australian media
  • High computer literacy, including experience with work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation programs
