Ampersand was established in 2008 by a team of senior managers and consultants who saw a gap in the market for a consultancy that provided a high-touch, boutique approach to Executive Search and Recruitment. We all have a passion for people consulting, coupled with an entrepreneurial drive that has made Ampersand a leader in our industry.

All of our consultants are experts in their respective markets across the sales, marketing, communications and HR / change management disciplines. The sum of our experience covers a broad range of industries from financial services and banking, to FMCG and consumer/retail, professional services, energy and resources, and the not-for-profit and government sectors.
With the only constant being change, we place a high value on transparent and honest communication in order to intimately understand our candidates’ and clients’ needs.

Why we’re called Ampersand
We've consciously created a brand that has meaning. The pronunciation of the word 'ampersand' is, linguistically, a relative of the Latin phrase 'et per se'. This translates as 'and' by itself. The ampersand symbol '&' is a typographic derivation of 'et' — Latin for 'and'.

In 2010, we re-branded ourselves and launched a new website.
